Cedar & Stone Property Services, operated by Lee Drummond, is responsible for the personal information submitted through this website.

Information we collect

When you send a property work request we collect your name, email address, phone number, property address, Sussex town or village, full postcode, the type of work selected, your description of the job, how soon you need it and who the work is for. The current form does not ask you to provide a budget.

Cedar & Stone no longer accepts new trades-recruitment registrations or trade vacancies. Before recruitment intake was retired, Cedar may have collected historic work-seeker information such as contact details, selected trades, experience, preferred Sussex work area, right-to-work declarations, date of birth used privately to confirm the 18-or-over requirement, and optional tools, transport or introduction information. Historic employer vacancy records may include business and contact details, the trade, work area, worker or experience needed, opportunity description and any optional pay, start-date, hours, duration, tools, driving or site-safety information that was submitted.

New trades-recruitment activity is handled separately through TradeKind, a separate Sussex trades platform. Historic Cedar recruitment records are not automatically transferred to TradeKind merely because new recruitment activity has moved there.

Why we use it

We use submitted information to receive your property enquiry, assess and handle the request, contact you about it, arrange and carry out any work we accept, identify the relevant Sussex area or trade type, keep appropriate business records and prevent misuse. Cedar no longer accepts new recruitment submissions. Any historic Cedar recruitment information is retained and used only where reasonably necessary for record-keeping, legal obligations, resolving queries or disputes, or other legitimate retention purposes.

Where an optional service is offered during an enquiry, any additional use or sharing of your information for that optional service will be explained to you at the point where you are asked to choose it. You do not have to choose an optional service in order to submit an ordinary Cedar & Stone enquiry.

Lawful bases

For ordinary Cedar & Stone property enquiries and work that Cedar & Stone accepts, we generally process the information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract and, where a job is accepted, to perform our contract with you.

We may also rely on our legitimate interests where necessary to administer enquiries, maintain proportionate business and audit records, prevent misuse, resolve queries and disputes, and keep our website and internal systems secure, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and interests. Where we are required to keep or use information to comply with a legal obligation, that legal obligation may also provide the lawful basis.

Where an optional onward-referral service is offered during a property enquiry and we rely on your consent, that consent is requested separately from the normal Cedar & Stone privacy acknowledgement. It is specific to the job you submit. The recipient, purpose, information to be shared and withdrawal details are shown to you before you are asked to choose that optional service.

Who receives the information

Information may be shared with Cedar & Stone staff, trade businesses we contract to carry out work for us, and service providers who support the running of the business, only where this is reasonably necessary to assess, arrange or carry out the property service you have requested or to administer legitimate historic records.

If you separately opt into an optional onward-referral service and Cedar & Stone later declines that specific job, the relevant job and contact information may be shared with the separate service identified to you at the point of choice. No optional referral is made if you do not opt in, and opting in does not itself transfer the enquiry before Cedar & Stone records a decline decision.

Full postcodes and private contact details are not intended for publication on the public Cedar & Stone website. Any historic work-seeker date of birth held by Cedar was collected privately for the former 18-or-over recruitment requirement and is not intended for public display or automatic transfer to TradeKind.

Website infrastructure

This website is hosted on the Lovable platform. Form submissions are sent to the website server, validated there and written to a private PostgreSQL database provided by Supabase. There is no public read endpoint: submitted information cannot be listed, read or edited by website visitors. Hosting and database providers process technical request data as part of running and securing the service. Cedar & Stone also uses a Cedar-owned Google Apps Script and Google Mail service to send limited transactional emails about enquiry outcomes and successful referrals.

Data minimisation

This version does not accept file uploads, so please do not attempt to send identity documents, financial documents or photographs. Do not put unnecessary sensitive personal information into free-text fields.

Retention

Personal information should be kept only for as long as it is reasonably needed to handle the enquiry, maintain necessary business records, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. This includes any historic Cedar recruitment records retained after recruitment intake was retired. Old submissions should be deleted when no longer needed.

Your rights

UK data protection law may give you rights over your personal information, including access, correction and in some circumstances deletion, restriction or objection. Data protection complaints

If you want to make a data-protection complaint about how Cedar & Stone has handled your personal information, email cedarstoneps@gmail.com. We will acknowledge a data-protection complaint within 30 days, take appropriate steps to investigate it without undue delay, keep you informed where appropriate and tell you the outcome without undue delay.

If you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled, you may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
