Sussex property-service enquiries

Chimney sweeping and flue-care enquiries across Sussex

Cedar reviews chimney-sweeping and related flue-care enquiries by the appliance or fireplace, how the flue is used and any visible symptoms rather than treating every chimney as the same job.

Work Cedar can review

Chimney Sweeps enquiries

Examples of work Cedar can consider include:

  • Routine sweeping for suitable open fires, stoves and used flues
  • Sweeping before or after seasonal use where appropriate
  • Basic flue-condition observations made during an accepted sweep
  • Blocked or poorly drawing chimney enquiries requiring specialist review
  • Chimney sweeping coordinated with fireplace or roof work
Planning the scope

Useful information before work is agreed

Clear access around the hearth and describe the appliance before the visit. If other fireplace or chimney work is planned, include it so sweeping is not scheduled at the wrong stage.

Service-specific note

Safety and scope

Do not use a fireplace or appliance that is spilling smoke, appears damaged or may have a blocked flue while waiting for a routine enquiry. Sweeping does not replace any inspection, repair or appliance servicing required by the actual system.

Cedar enquiry process

What happens after you send the enquiry

A real person at Cedar & Stone reviews the property, location, scope and timing. Sending the form does not book the work or guarantee acceptance.

If Cedar accepts the work, Cedar handles or manages the accepted Cedar job. If Cedar declines it, nothing is sent to TradeKind unless you separately chose the optional referral consent; consent alone never creates a TradeKind job.

Useful questions

Questions before you enquire

Can I request a routine chimney sweep?

Yes. Identify the fireplace or appliance and when it was last swept if that is known.

Does sweeping prove the whole chimney is sound?

No. A sweep removes deposits from a suitable flue; it does not by itself confirm every part of the chimney, liner or appliance is safe.

Can I mention smoke coming back into the room?

Yes. Treat that as important symptom information and stop using the appliance if continued use may be unsafe.
